Get Involved

Members are encouraged to get more involved in NESCA by serving on a committee. NESCA committies are a great place to work on issues that matter to you while networking with others in the industry. Whether you're interested in legislation, safety, education or our annual golf tournament, we have committees designed to fit your interests. If you would like to serve on any of the following committees, please contact the NESCA office at or call 518-869-9800.

Education Committee

The NESCA/AGC/ECA Educational Partnership was formed more than 25 years ago to avoid duplication in educational programming by NESCA, the Associated General Contractors of NYS and Eastern Contractors Association. The Educational Partnership is responsible for developing a comprehensive education program for contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in the Capital District. This includes management seminars, superintendent training courses, OSHA courses and other educational programs

Golf Outing Committee

The Golf Outing Committee is responsible for all preparations related to NESCA's annual golf outing, including location, format, prizes, and sponsorships.

Government Relations Committee

The Government Relations Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with and commmunicating NESCA positions on construction-related issues to Capital District legislators serving in the NYS Senate and Assembly.

Membership Committee

Program Committee

The Program Committee is responsible for developing varied and interesting program topics and speakers for NESCA's monthly membership meetings.

Safety Committee

The Safety Committee is responsible for planning and executing NESCA's annual safety awards program. The committee also seeks to develop training and education programs targeted to NESCA members and other construction industry employers on construction industry hazards such as falls, struck-by, caught-in-between, and electrical. The committee is charged with raising safety awareness among NESCA members, and encouraging members to demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and health.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee was originally established to set up several endowed scholarship funds with Hudson Valley Community College to benefit students enrolled in HVCC's construction-related programs. The committee's primary purpose today is to investigate and pursue methods to increase the value of both endowed funds through fund-raising activities and member contributions.

Social Committee

The Social Committee is responsible for investigating and developing ideas for NESCA social events, such as our annual Day at the Races, as a way of bringing members together for networking purposes.

Trade Show Committee

The Trade Show Committee is responsible for scheduling, organizing and implementing NESCA's Annual Trade Show.

Young Professionals Committee

NESCA's Young Professionals is a committee of "younger" (roughly 21-40) members, 2nd generation company owners, and young management-level employees of NESCA members who would like to become more active in the association, gain exposure within the construction industry and business community at large, and network with other young professionals.
